Sterlite Industries wins Golden Peacock Award for Training
The Tuticorin based Sterlite Industries (India) Limited, a principal operating company of the Vedanta Group, received the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Training today in recognition to its World-Class Employee Training Structure and Excellent practices.
Joseph J M Peeris, received the award from His Excellency Dr A R Kidwai, Governor of Haryana, the Chief Guest for the occasion. A jury under the Chairmanship of Justice P. N. Bhagwati, Former Chief Justice of India, adjudged Sterlite Industries (India) Limited as the winner among the 186 companies contended for this award.
The Golden Peacock Awards was instituted in order to help the organizations benchmark against the best and set new standards of training excellence, Quality, innovation management, innovative products/ services, the areas that will hold the key to business leadership in 21st Century. The Golden Peacock Awards have been instituted by the Institute of Directors, since 1991 have been giving these awards for the past 17 years and these awards are deemed as the corporate excellence which provide checklists for Improvement and Self assessment in areas of Quality, Innovation, Training, Governance, Environment and Management.
