M&M posts 30% cumulative growth in January
Mahindra & Mahindra, a part of the US $6 billion Mahindra Group, consolidated its leadership position in the automotive segment substantially in January 2008. Cumulative sales including exports grew by 30% in January ’08 with total sales of 1,86,999 vehicles as against 1,43,859 vehicles for the corresponding period last year. Total sales including exports in January ’08 numbered 22,309 as against 19,875 in the corresponding month last year.
Passenger Cars
Mahindra Renault sold 2301 units of India’s first wide body car, Logan, in the month of January 2008.
Domestic sales
M&M clocked total vehicles sales of 20,884 units in the domestic market as against 19,132 in the corresponding month last fiscal.
Exports
The company’s automotive sector clocked sales of 1425 vehicles in January as against 743 units in the corresponding period last fiscal.
