The rally in September has been robust barring a few wrinkles. And now, moving into October, which has historically been a tricky month since 1990, most experts hold a cautious view. Looking at the market trend since the past three days, SP Tulsian of sptulsian.com says the bourses have been broadly ruling a little subdued.
“I don’t think one is going to see an upside from hereon largely because there are no fresh figures—even the second quarter results may not be able to enthuse the market which broadly will be taking cues from the advance tax numbers having been paid,” he reasons.
He sees a fall of about 5%. “Sensex could correct as high as 1,000 points in the October series and trade close to the 19,000-20,500 range. While the Nifty may slip about 300 points, and move in the broad range of 5,700 to 6,200.”
