we can keep share in futures for shorterm also, then how lng we can keep it. but in MOSL, trade type show only 1 option as MAR (MARGIN), expiry date shows 29-07-10.
then we can keep stocks till mentioned expiry date it we need can seel the expiry datge know.pleas help me thru answering.....
CB, replies: Hi vembhu, i have emailed you. yes. last Thrusday of the month is expiry day, if you want to hold it longer you need to roll it over to the next month(brokerage charges apply)

Hi Varadhann, its a hold for now. avg it lower near 440-450 levels..fundamentally its a strong stock. will recover back

Thanks got ur mail, letters changed in my last msg...
In MOSL demat a/c, trade type shows only 1 option as MAR (MARGIN), expiry date shows 29-07-10.
My query -(for futures) though we bought the shares in margin trade type, can we keep those stocks for longer or there should be mentioned as delivery to buy for longer period for futures..(vry sry i know it is silly ques but i want to get it clearly)
CB, replies: Hi vembhu, did not really get your question. in margin we can keep for short term as long as there is balance in ur account. if the loss increases then you will be forced to exit it.

I have almost 2 lakh and thinking to invest for lont term i have finalized one strategy
to take : JSW ENERGY
TVS MOTOR
JAIN IRRIGATION in cash worth 40K each in cash
and put it as MARGIN for buying ANY TWO OF IT FORTIS HEALTH, BHARTI AIRTEL, SESA GOA & LARSEN in FO and will roll over both FO item for next six month or more through which i can get maximum retrn and do put 80k for mark to market. Kindly guide me in this strategy.

Hi cb,
1) If i buy a share in future, for how long can i hold it (maximum period)?
2) You said "as long as there is balance in a/c". balance means what, Do you mean full amount of 1 lot or 10% of 1 lot.
3) How to roll over the date?
4) What trade type to select for short term in futures trading? (i'm getting only MARGIN if i select FUTURES). For ex. in cmp we have MARGIN, DELIVERY & BNST
CB, replies: Hi vembhu, you can hold it for as long as you want to hold it. no time limit. only will need to roll it over on expiry. rolling over is simply selling you position in current month and buying again in next month. yes, you trade with margin in F&O. if your trade goes in a loss and eats up all ur margin, then you will need to put more money in ur account to compensate for the losses.
