Are oil stocks like IOC and ONGC good buy at current levels? IOC looks attractive with EPS of 42 and P/E of 8.4. My investment horizon is 6mths to 1yr.

Edelweiss is giving a dividend of Rs.3 and Rs.5 special dividend on Tuesday...so if i buy the stock tomorrow..will i also get it?

Hi Arun,
@Arun: You should consider last date of dividend recording. For some companies it is the day they declare dividend while for some its a specific cut-off date. Google for the cut-off date for Edelweiss and things will be more clear. Hope this helps.

The Edelweiss website says
"Edelweiss, India’s leading diversified financial services company announced that its Board of Directors has approved a stock split of the face value of Rs. 5 each into Rs. 1 each, at a meeting held here today.
The Board also recommended issue of bonus shares in the ratio 1:1. With this the shareholders would get 1 share for each share held (after subdivision). The same is subject to approval of shareholders at its ensuing AGM."
This means if i own 1 share of Edelweiss capital, I will get 10 shares right? 5 from the 1:5 split and additional 5 from 1:1 bonus issue.

CB, replies: Hi Champ, most welcome. as of now would advice to wait for some dip. on dips one can accumulate axis bank, ifci, carborundum & LT. these are looking good. once markets settle can add 10-15%
