what is the difference between BLOCK DEAL and BULK DEAL, SIR?

Kartik, replies: Hi MADHU, If on a trading day, the transactions of any individual client exceed 0.5% of a company's outstanding shares, it is considered a bulk deal, block deal is a single transaction of a minimum quantity of five lakh shares or a minimum value of Rs 5 crore and is done between two parties through a separate window of the stock exchange that is open for only 35 minutes in the beginning of the trading hours.

    Hi Kartik,

I want to trade with Rs.10 lakh, but i dont know if i should trade on my own or if i should put it in different mutual funds. I am very new to trading and only rely on tips, I have not made any huge losses but i have also not made any huge gains either. Should i take the risk and continue trading with only blue chip stocks so i can keep them as delivery if they go down or should i just put the money in mutual funds?

Kartik, replies: Hi kk, since you are new, it would be better to invest 60% in Mutual funds, good ones are SBI Contra and HDFC Top 200, these can give you good returns in the Long run. If you planning to purchase some stocks for Long term you may buy some of Mcleod Russel and Unitech at CMP (enter in small quantity as of now)
