Kartik, replies: Hi Ram, Stock bonus date is announced in advanced (you need to buy the shares before the ex date), but dividend can be declared by the company anytime, in other words you cant anticipate when a company is going to give dividend. Yes, bonus and split are the same

But still one more question here . If company is giving bonus i.e splitting the share value then what is the advantake for the stock holder of the company ?

Kartik, replies: Hi Ram, sometimes, the split manges to happen at a higher levels, eg consider if 2rs stocks is split in the ratio of 1:1, then the split might happen at 1.10, instead of 1
