nb, u can either square off or excercise ur option on or before expiry... if u square off at a given time the difference in premium at that point of time will be your profit/loss... and if u excercise ur option on a particular day the difference b/w the strike price and the closing price on that day will be ur profit....

Hi Ravinder Dabas, ok.. on the 3rd day from the day you short your shares they will be bought back in auction. if the rate of the stock comes down then you will be in profit if stock continues to move higher then you may have some loss. also some brokers charge penalty some don't. check with your broker if he charges any amt

i am holding IFCI@58 Since Sep'09. Should i sell it at 53-54 and buy Kalindee rail for rail budget. Would i be able to gain around 20-30% till budhet in Kalindee. Do you think it is the right idea?Please advice?

SUPPOSE I HAVE BOUGHT CALL OPTION 100 XYZ STOCK @ 100 ON A STRIKE PRICE OF 98..I HOLD IT TILL EXPIRY AN EXERCISE THE OPTION .ON THAT DAY THE CLOSING PRICE WAS 102.THAT MEANS ITS A PROFIT OF 4 RS AND IF ITS GOES DOWN FROM THE STRIKE PRICE THEN ITS A LOSS....?????????/
