the spread between the spot and future on the closing date is always zero.
In this sense arbitration strategy (shorting future and buying stock) is risk free?

at anytime we can buy stocks in equity and short the future (if the difference is more than the fair value?).
my query no 2. on the date of expiry the difference between future price and spot will be zero?
