Hi, I have a query regarding Confirmation of Allocation note from Maruti Udyog Limited, in physical form. My dad had paid for 50 shares of Maruti in 2004 and as proof I have the Confirmation of Allocation note (CAN) . However I do not have the physical share certificates ( neither demat ). Can I retrieve the equity shares using this CAN certificate?
The bank from which the shares were paid for (now HDFC bank) didn't have any idea regarding this. Thanks.
