What happens to shareholders when a company winds up operations by taking permission from legal authorities . Do yhey get something .

sir i have invested in arvind at around 246 ,what to do now i thought it will hold on to it support levels at 245

As per my knowledge and law,if a company winds up operation and closes, after paying all creditors,govt dues like taxes,PF/ESI etc,if any thing left can be distributed to share holders as per shareholding ratio. Usually companies wind up when dues are more than net worth and it is as good as nothing to share holders.

Hi Mr CB
Holding short positions in Axis and ICICI from 550 level and 315 ( now 527 and 304 ) . They seemed to be holding out somewhat today . Are these shorts a hold or should I exit ?

Above 8280 there was a hope that we will have a small bounce till 8400 - 8450 . But Now that Nifty is convincingly below 8280 is there a chance that next few days we will at least see a bounce to 8200 - 8280 or even that is a tall order now ?
