Hi Pooja1981, the Exchange shall make the necessary adjustments for all the available Futures & Options contracts on the underlying scrip COAL INDIA LTD (Derivatives Asset Code - COAL), on Thursday, January 16, 2014, the ‘ex-date’ being Friday, January 17, 2014.

The adjustments to be made on account of extra-ordinary dividend are given below:

    A) Adjustments for Options Contracts:

The full value of dividend i.e. Rs.29/- would be deducted from all the cum-dividend strike prices on
the ex-dividend date. The details of the old and corresponding new options contracts that shall be
available for trading from January 17, 2014 would be intimated by the Exchange on January 16, 2014.

    B) Adjustments for Futures Contracts:

Futures price: The adjusted futures price will be arrived at reference rate less dividend amount Rs.29/-.
The reference rate used will be daily mark to market settlement price of the relevant futures contract.

The strike/futures prices shall be rounded off to the nearest integer/tick size.

    Thanks...

Hi kodees, today there was not much difference between spot and fut. Price. So what difference would be there on 17th?
Suppose I shorted at 297 when spot price was 296,, any adjustments made to the fut price will not affect my trade? Will it?

CB, replies: Hi pooja1981, ok. these are a hold for now
