Lok Sabha passes Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill 2011. New amendments will strengthen the RBI. Main features of Amendment Bill:- 1. RBI powers to supersede bank board. 2. RBI can inspects books of Bank Associates. 3. PSU Banks can raise capital via extra instruments. 4. CAP on voting right hiked to 10% in PSBS. 5. CAP on voting right hiked to 26% in Private Banks. 6. No New merger clauses are being introduced.
