Hi,
I have a question on profit booking–
Suppose if I have purchased 100 shares worth Rs 10,000/-, after say 3 months it becomes Rs. 12,000. Thereby I made a profit of Rs 2,000/-.
People talk about profit booking –
1. should I sell all 100 shares to book profit or
2. Should I sell only shares worth Rs 2000 being profit i.e 20 shares, thereby my capital is still invested (80 shares).
Kartik, replies: Hi pramod, its always safe to book full profits (sell 100 shares), as the stock can see some profit booking ahead, also many times people sell 50% of their holdings and keep a trailing SL (a price above your buying price) for the rest
