Dear CB / Kartik,
Good Evening! I am asking this question to learn. Yesterday, the Nifty crashed. If supposing I had been holding some stock and it had gone down badly and I squared off my position because of the same, will the exchange cancel the transaction or will I lose the trade? For example, let's say ITC. Yesterday, once candle shows a Rs.60/- drop (from 280 to about 220). If I had bought the stock before the crash, say at around 270 and then when it fell to about 220, I panicked and squared off my position at about 225, then I actually have sold off down Rs.50,000 (assuming one lot). Will my square off be cancelled or the entire transaction (including the buying) be cancelled or do I stand to lose?
How does it work? Please advise. Sorry for the long text.
Best Regards,
Kris

Hi CB/ Kartik,
I bought IOB at 90, I can wait for another month - No Problem.
But I bought HDFC at 762 and Hero Motors at 1870. These are going down.
What should i do? Both i bought on margin.

Yeah, it was stopped for a little while at that time. So I infer, even if I had placed an order to square off, it wouldn't have gone through and the order would have got cancelled.
Thanks, CB.
Finally I got a glimpse of you on FB today :).
Best Regards,
Kris.
