Sirji, I bought CESC at 284. Ex dividend date on 11.07.2012. How much it can go till ex dividend?

I an huge loss in KOTAK bank shaort and Bank nifty short.....and buy educomp fut??
Shall i exit one lot of kotak and buy next month bank nifty as a hedge then either at 5300 or 4900 we would exit long or short???
