    Sir,

My question was-what amount we will be getting on expiry for 800 ICICI call?
Assuming ICICI ends at 830 share strike price.

Why I am getting confused because call current price is 7 whereas the share price is 818.
Also,ICICI current future price is 800 sir.what does this convey?Does this mean that market is assuming that it will go down to 800 or what?

    Apologies for troubling you.

CB, replies: ar Mukul, Let me try and answer your question to some extent. The call/put value is not a direct calculation of strike price - current spot price. It also is dependent on a few other values like the time value and volatility value. So if the strike price is 850 and the spot price is 800, it does not mean that the value of the CE / PE will be 50. It could be different. Time value keeps getting reduced as the days progress and the volatility value keeps changing depending on the volatility of the spot price of the scrip. So essentially the answer to your question is NO. It is not a direct calculation like that. Hope you get it. Thanks, Kris"

    Dear CB,

A small feedback: There are some links given as "Interesting Posts:" inbetween this text box and the "SUBMIT COMMENT" button. Sometimes, we land up clicking that. It will help if the button comes immediately after the text box - which is what happens on most sites.

    My 2 cents.

    Thanks
    Kris

CB, replies: Hi Kris, thanks :) shall talk to the programmer on this

Hi cb, at last nifty slahed down from 4980, break 4950 but lastly able to close marginal near of 4950.Also global clues are in deep red, Dow & Nasdaq Fut is also trading in deep red. According to poll, GDP data 'll b near 6.1%, which is lower than last year Q4 GDP data. Is it a indication of downtrend for indian market?Share ur precious view.

CB, replies: Hi kausik, yes, global markets are trading lower. technically has strong support in the 4750-4800 zone. possible tests it again if global markts remain weak. immediate support at 4930-4950
