i had 50 shares of SBI in delivery and inadvertantly i sold (100) of the same from delivery, thus short selling (50) at 2210. as the (50) shares are now sent for auction, what should be my plan to offset losses if any. would you kindly spell out the procedure involved in such cases.
Kartik, replies: Hi shiva, it will be sold at auction on the 3rd day, i.e on Friday and depending on the price of the stock on that day, you profit/loss shall be decided, also the broker might charge you some penalty

HI Kartik, I am in a dilemma.. holding only longs ...of REC/Renuka/hdfcbk..and entered a Punj 65CE to day..The nifty 4900 pe order , placed at the end of the day ..has not gone thr'..
As such , which is a good way to hedge for now pl?...Shall I enter a punjlloyd & renuka 50pe , as well as a PE each in RIL & Yes bank or DLF..pl?
Problem with options of REC & hdfcbk.. is that, they trade in v.small volumes...and so not easy to hedge them..

CB, replies: Hi Gitanjali, as of now seems like a flattish opening tomorrow. don't enter stock pe's yet. enter if nifty breaks 5000 or sees a 40-50 point bounce. yes, rec and hdfcbank are traded with low volumes. go with few nifty puts on a small bounce.
