Hi cb/kartik, i had invested my money in sbi magnum midcap fund in 2007 dec. but now my capital remaining is just 50 %. do you suggest me to switch to some other midcap fund ????i am in huge loss. as per your suggestion i have already started sip in hdfc top 200.
CB, replies: Hi srp, yes, sbi midcap fund has not really performed well for quite some time. for now dont exit. wait for a rally in markets.. once midcaps start moving it will do well. keep it for another 4-5 months. hdfc top 200 is a good bet. will give good returns.

if i invest in ONGC on monday will i be eligible for split and bonus?
CB, replies: Hi anshul, not really sure whats the record date.. but yes, if you buy it current price, you will get bonus shares once the stock splits.

3I INFOTECH & BAJAJ HINDUSTAN & BAJAJ ELECTRICALS & BAJAJ AUTO & IFCI & TVS MOTORS & SUZLAN & IOL NETCOM & IOL CHEMICALS & RELIANCE POWER & PUNJ LLOYD.
PLS ADVICE.

CB, replies: Hi MOHAN, these are fundamentally good. for now would advice to hold. dont avg any yet. wait for markets to stop falling and settle a bit. as of now considering the recent sell off, seems nifty could see 5250-5300 in coming days. one a small bounce, hedge with couple of nifty puts if possible.

I have 700 shares of BPCL@ 660.Wats your take on it ? Dont mind holding on to it for some time
CB, replies: Hi deepa, most welcome. bpcl has strong support at 570-580 levels.fundamentally its a good bet. hold it for some more time.. once crude oil prices start correcting a bit, it can head back to 750 levels.
