ok, thank you.. my portfolio is in bad shape. do you think its better tht i take a few puts? anything tht you suggest? am holding a 5500 put at 126 where as it closed at 109. should i close it out in the morning if we are to see a bounce? cant go deper into losses.
CB, replies: Hi sudss, yes. seems may open a bit flat tomorrow. if nifty adds another 40-60 points, enter another put for a weeks time.

alternatively, shall i exit the current put and enter lower if the market goes up by 40-60 points? or do you suggest to keep this?

cb, am still confused with the derivative market timings... i always thought, and saw on my trading platform tht these are traded only after 9.15... but thn how does the day high and low show numberes no where near the trading range of the days first trades? do the pre-open carry out offline trades? is tht why?
CB, replies: Hi sudss, yes. trades to take place between 9.08 AM to 9.15 AM. this system was put in place to reduce volatility during market open

the pre-open session doesn't allow me to place f&o orders. they had always been rejected (though CM orders worked) and the streaming changes start appearing only after 9.15. so had been thinking f&o trades happen only after 9.15. so whats being traded in f&o before 9.15? previous day's offline orders? (as the system isnt accepting orders placed between 9 and 9.07 which is supposed to be the order placing slot in pre-open)
CB, replies: Hi sudss, no. its only allowed in cash markets.. F&O markets open at 9.15AM

Hi CB, with your advice i had invested at levels suggested(aprox Rs 22L) over time in PFC, REC, LICHF, Utd spirits, Can Ban, Yes Ban and i am not at 35% loss at cmp due to the crash last/this month..should i wait for them to gain or should i book loss? please advice as i am desperate for recovery and dont intend losing more if the situation looks bad ahead
CB, replies: Hi oswyn, yes, these are a hold for now. due to recent turn of events, markets have corrected quite a bit. may consolidate near 5350-5400 zone for some time. these are a hold
