One fundamental query...suppose a company is about to declare its dividend say in March. So technically when should i buy the stock to be eligible for getting the dividend.
Also is the same logic applied for bonus (stock split) too.... Thanks...
Kartik, replies: Hi Whitenoise, its 0.70 rs, since the face value is 1, the dividded is calculated on the face value of share, to be eligible for the dividend, stock-split, you need to hold it a day before the record date, these dates are generally announced by the companies a month before the split, dividend

so the dividend translates to approx Rs 73 per share for Bajaj Hindustan.....
