JSW Steel records highest output in Q4; stock up 10%
MUMBAI: Shares of JSW Steel gained momentum Monday after the steel manufacturer achieved its highest-ever during the fourth quarter ended March 2009 registering 11 per cent growth to 11.06 lakh tonne over the corresponding quarter last year.
The crude steel production of 4.56 lakh tonne in March 2009 was higher by 28 per cent from last year’s figures, while it grew 39 per cent on a sequential basis. In FY08-09, the company’s crude steel production stood at 38.64 lakh tonne; a growth of 7 per cent from a year earlier inspite of temporary cuts in November and December on account of the global slowdown.
At 10:45 am, the company’s shares rose 10.45 per cent to Rs 337.55 on the NSE.
