RIL halts drilling at KG-D6, as Laila strengthens
Reliance Industries Ltd – RIL has halted its drilling at KG-D6 for 24-48 hrs as tropical cyclone ‘Laila’ moved towards the east coast of India in the Bay of Bengal.
Cyclone Laila is forecast to reach hurricane strength before making landfall in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
Shares of Reliance industries slipped by 2.1% to Rs 998. The scrip opened at Rs1009 it touched an intra-day high of Rs 1014 and a low of Rs 995 and recorded volumes of over 1.1 mn shares on BSE.
RIL shut oil and gas production from the MA field in the KG-D6 block yesterday, according to reports. Gas production from the Dhirubhai-1 and 3 fields was, however, not affected, the reports added.
