The film, directed by Akku Akbar was made with a budget of Rs. 1.4 crore and collections for the film are expected to see a significant upsurge with Onam around the corner.
Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd has also won the distribution rights for three more movies which will be released shortly – Saroja in Tamil, Shoot on Sight, a Hinglish movie and Ganesha Mathe Banda in Kannada. Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd recently released Mukhbiir in Hindi on August 29.
Speaking on these developments, Mr. P.S. Saminathan, Chairman and Managing Director, Pyramid Saimira Group, said, “We are very happy with the way Veruthe Oru Bhariya has been received by our audiences in Kerala. It was a conscious decision on our part to release the movie across selected 33 screens in the state as this would ensure that collections remain steady over a period of time. We will also be releasing Saroja, Shoot on Sight and Ganesha Mathe Banda shortly and we’re sure that these films will also do exceedingly well. We have also recently released Mukhbiir which is running successfully all over India.”
Saroja and Shoot on Sight are expected to hit the theatres on September 5 and September 19, respectively. Saroja is being directed by Venkat Prabhu of the Chennai 600028 fame and the cast includes S. P. B. Charan, Premji Amaren and Siva.
Shoot on Sight is a Hinglish thriller that has been directed by Jagmohan Mundhra. The movie has been inspired by the bombings that occurred in London on July 7, 2005, thereby resulting in the death of 52 people on London’s underground network. The story is fictional and is based on how an entire community sometimes gets targeted in the aftermath of an incident along the lines of the bombings in London. The movie profiles an innocent Muslim who becomes the victim of paranoia in the aftermath of 7/7, with its overzealous police force in the face of standing orders to “Shoot on Sight”, any suspected terrorists. The cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Brain Cox,
Greta Scacchi, Om Puri, Gulshan Grover, Sadie Frost and Mikaal Zulfiqar. The movie has already been released in 60 screens in the UK and is running successfully.
Mukhbiir, directed by Mani Sankar, was released by Pyramid Saimira across India on Friday, August 29 and is running successfully. Mukhbiir traces the life of a young man who works as an informed for the intelligence department and the many identities he has to assume as part of his role. The movie gives the audiences a sneak peak into the dangerous life that such an informer lives, where forgetting his lines could result in instant death. The cast includes Sammir Dattani, Om Puri, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Rahul Dev and Raima Sen.
Pyramid Saimira will also be releasing Ganesha Mathe Banda in Karnataka. The film directed by Pani Ramachandra, revolves around a family of unique individuals who tend to think radically differently from one another. This tendency leads to a conflict between the traditional and the moderns outlooks to life and has a huge impact on the family. The movie largely reflects the situation that is seen in many Indian households and is bound to go down well with the audiences. Ganesha Mathe Banda will soon hit the theatres.
