Patel Engineering Ltd., a civil infrastructure construction company, today announced that the company bagged the Taum Sauck Upper Reservoir Dam Reconstruction project. This is the largest RCC dam in the Missouri, USA. The value of the project is estimated to be approximately USD 250 – USD 280 million. This job is a negotiated contract between Amren & Ozark Constructors LLC (a 50-50 joint venture between ASI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Patel Engineering, & Fred Weber Inc.) The project will be executed by Patel Engineering Ltd. wholly owned subsidiary ASI RCC Inc. The Taum Sauk Plant is owned and operated by Ameren UE, a subsidiary of Amren Corporation, St. Louis.

The Tom Sauck Plant is a reversible pumped storage project used to supplement the generation & transmission facilities of Amren UE. Ozark LLC has been chosen to rehabilitate the existing dam at Tom Sauck. The scope of work involves rebuilding the existing inoperable Upper Reservoir with the construction of a Concrete faced symmetrical Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) Dam.

Commenting on the development, Mr Rupen Patel, Managing Director, Patel Engineering Ltd., said, “This project is a landmark event in the Indian construction sector as it is for the first time that an Indian construction company has penetrated the most stringent and demanding western market.”

ASI RCC Inc. is a multi-state general contractor with prime focus on roller compacted concrete dam construction. Patel Engineering Ltd acquired ASI RCC Inc, a US based engineering company for their specific engineering expertise in roller compacted concrete used in construction of dams.
