ITC’s Packaging biz gets highest quality rating in India
ITC’s Packaging & Printing Business’ Chennai unit has received a Level 8 rating in the International Quality Rating System (IQRS). IQRS Level 8 is the highest rating any company has received in India till date. IQRS has been developed by DNV, Norway and is an amalgam of ISO 9000, European Foundation for Quality Management, Malcolm Baldridge Award and QS 9000 standards. The IQRS assessment is done across 14 parameters, ranging from Leadership and Strategy to Stakeholder Satisfaction.
ITC’s Packaging Business’ continuous process improvement initiative is driven by a unique employee suggestion scheme and mentoring programme. The Total Productive Maintenance endeavour adds to the momentum of improving efficiencies. A SAP integrated Product Introduction Process (PIP) brings desired online control to the design process and sub processes. At ITC’s Packaging Business, a strong Six Sigma programme is focused towards eliminating defects with 75 trained green belts. 20 Six Sigma projects have already been completed and another 20 are currently under way. An annual customer satisfaction survey enables ITC’s Packaging Business to be extremely customer-centric.
ITC’s Packaging & Printing Business is the country’s largest convertor of paperboard into packaging and a major player in the Flexibles and Microfluted Cartons segments for the food & beverage, FMCG, liquor, cellular phone and IT industries.
