ICICI Bank UK opens branches in Coventry & Eastham
ICICI Bank UK Plc, a wholly owned subsidiary of ICICI Bank Ltd, India’s largest private sector bank, inaugurated key bank branches – Coventry (Warwickshire) & Eastham (East London) as part of their strategy to deliver value added, competitive products to ethnically diverse communities in Britain.
Mr. Suvek Nambiar, MD & CEO of ICICI Bank UK Plc, said, “Having a physical presence through a branch network in ethnic areas is central to our growth strategy in Britain. Our research tells us that a large segment of the ethnically diverse population prefer to access financial services by speaking to representatives of our Bank in person. Our investment in Britain is underlined by the fact that the UK market rewards innovation, and our innovative products, such as our remittances solution, have been well appreciated by our customers.”
He added, “We are finding that our customers want to be involved in the huge boom in India. By banking with India’s largest private sector bank, our customers can be assured that we fully support their investment strategies to capitalise on our experience in India.” Currently, the ICICI Bank UK branch network comprises: Knightsbridge (London), Wembley (London), Southall (London), Eastham (London, Birmingham, Coventry, and Leicester.
The Coventry branch was inaugurated by The Lord Mayor of Coventry & the Leader of Coventry Council on 10th January 2008 and the Eastham branch was inaugurated by Rt. Hon. Stephen Timms MP, Minister for Competitiveness on 11th January 2008.
