GMS & MMS available on BSNL Mobile Network
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), the largest integrated telecom service provider in the country has added to its Mobile network a unique value added service that will enable all its customers across the country to send multilingual SMS’s to any network without any device constraint. This revolutionary communication aid will empower people to be able to communicate in their preferred language.
This new service gives the subscribers an opportunity to compose and send short messages in the language of their choice and is available in 11 Indian languages that include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. The language applications have been developed by Geneva Software Technologies Ltd and is first of its kind in the world and these applications operate successfully on most of the handsets model available in the market.
Geneva Messaging Services – Multilingual Messaging Services have demonstrated exceptional growth after the launch of these services for the BSNL Subscribers. The exceptional growth suggests that Subscribers across the country are adapting to Short Messaging Services in their own language. To enhance the application features and user experience, Geneva Software Technologies Ltd is launching a pair application known as GMS Language Communicator (GMS LC), which will provide a separate language specific Inbox on Subscribers handset besides giving additional features like folders for draft & sent items. GMS LC Application is also available for Urdu language. GMS LC Application is the only application that enables advertisements for products and services leveraging dynamic ticker, and embedded feature in the application. Geneva Messaging Service is a powerful facility to kill the language barrier and bring the people across closer.
GMS LC Application download will cost Rs.10/- along with Rs.5/- for monthly subscription per language. The Multilingual SMS charges (GMS) will be same as prevailing SMS charges. GMS received message size will comprise of 45 characters per SMS while message can be composed upto 150 characters. GMS LC can be downloaded from BSNL WAP Site.
