Dhanus Technologies revenues grow by 118%
Dhanus Technologies Ltd. (BSE Scrip code: 532903), one of India’s fastest growing communications services companies, announced its annual results for the financial year 2007-08.
For the fourth quarter, the revenue from operations was Rs. 72.8 crores (Rs. 30.9 crores for corresponding Q4 2007) and profit after taxes stood at Rs. 26.7 crores in Q4 2008 as compared to Rs. 6.8 crores in corresponding Q4 2007.
The Company’s financials close in June every year. Commenting on the performance, Mr. V Narayanaswamy, Managing Director, Dhanus Technologies said, “We are pleased with our overall progress, consistency in business and outperforming our delivery capabilities. The launch of V-tel mobile in the last quarter of this year and the appropriate pricing of the services has seen tremendous response from the consumers. Although early days, we plan to take V-tel mobile on an aggressive growth path for fiscal 2009”.
Telecommunication businesses will perform better this year with our plans to bring MPINGI to India. We will focus on acquisition and mergers and follow a blend of organic and inorganic growth to rapidly scale up Dhanus’ operations and delivery systems.”
Performance Highlights:
ยท Net Profits for this fiscal grew by 120.6%, as compared to the last fiscal.
The Company recorded a scintillating growth across all its business verticals. The Income from Telecard Services segment grew from Rs. 50.3 crores in FY 2007 to Rs. 81.5 crores in FY 2008, a 62% jump. Income from FleeTrac services scaled up to Rs. 32.5 crores this year from Rs. 0.12 crores in the previous year, a record 27324% growth. Software Products & Services clocked a turnover of Rs. 53.4 crores in FY 2008, up 69% from Rs. 31.5 crores in FY 2007. Income from BPO Services recorded Rs. 27.8 crores, making a quantum jump of 230.4% from Rs. 8.4 crores in FY 2007.
The Company added another product-service to its portfolio by launching V-tel Mobile service in May this year. V-tel Mobile service would be available for all GSM based subscribers and can be used across 227 countries with more than 250 mobile phone service providers. V-tel Mobile offers free incoming calls in over 50 countries and charges discounted rates for home country calls as well as for calls made within the respective country during travel. This will help international travelers save call charges by a whopping 95%. This service from Dhanus will be a blessing for most international travelers who spend huge sums on making or receiving International calls. V-tel Mobile will extend the convenience of being reachable anytime and anywhere, globally without the customer being perturbed by the call cost.
Dhanus already enjoys strong market share with its existing V-tel Global Calling cards services, which is one of the most profitable business in its portfolio. The V-tel Mobile is its progressive brand extension that opens international roaming to its customers in a pay-as-you-go model at local rates.
EARNINGS PER SHARE: The Company’s Earnings Per Share, before exceptional items, showed an impressive growth at Rs. 35.76 this fiscal as compared to Rs. 21.08 per Share in FY 2007.
DIVIDEND: The Board of Directors have recommended a dividend of 17% on the Equity Shares of the Company as compared to 15% the previous year.
