ABG Shipyard bags 2 order worth Rs 305 crores
ABG Shipyard Ltd, the country’s largest shipyard has bagged two prestigious orders worth Rs. 305 rores.Marnavi Spa is a Shipping Company operating on the World Chemical Product and Food Stuff Transportation market. The Company owns a total fleet of 27 ships consisting of Petrochemical Tankers, Transporting Ships, HTS and recoil vessels. The company has placed an order for a 72 meter vessel of 2500 DWT with a 130Tonne Bollard Pull AHTS for Anchor Handling, Towing, rescue, offshore supply and other related duties. The value of the order is approx. Rs.127.00 Crores.
The other order is from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for the construction of a 80 Meter research vessel of 1800 DWT. to be used by the National Institute of Oceanography. The value of the contract is approx.Rs.178 crores.
With this new order the Company has an Order Book of about Rs. 8,499 crores.
On announcing the order, Mr. Dhananjay Datar, CFO, ABG Shipyard said: “Since last few months the shipbuilding industry has battled investors’ perception and with this order we hope to restore faith in the industry on a whole. There is consistent demand for newer ships in the international market and our order book position stands as a testimony to the situation.”
