North Korea Attacks South Korea – World markets crash!
Yonhap News agency reported Tuesday that North Korea had fired artillery shells at Yeonpyeong, a South Korean island.
Media reports suggest that as many as 70 houses were on fire after the shelling. The attacks from North Korea prompted a South Korean fighter jet to be deployed to the west coast.
The incident reportedly occured during an annual military drill held by South Korea in the area as China’s Xinhua news agency reports, “drills involve about 70,000 troops and began Monday […] scheduled to last through Nov. 30.
Four South Korean soldiers are reported to have been wounded in the exchange of fire.
The exchange of fire was confirmed by South Korea’s military without unveiling further details.
