FIIs invest Rs 117.23 crore in equities
MUMBAI: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) on 6th-jJn-2009 (Friday) extended their confidence in the market and invested Rs 117.23 crore in equities. As per the provisional data available with the Bombay Stock Exchange, FIIs were the gross seller of equities worth Rs 1,273.17 crore, whereas they bought shares valued at Rs 1,155.94 crore resulting in a net buy of Rs 117.23 crore.
On Thursday also, FIIs were the net investor of Rs 51.20 crore in equities, the latest data with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) shows.
In today’s market, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) also followed the trend of FIIs and invested shares worth Rs 131.67 crore.
However, brokers on behalf of their clients and non-resident Indians offloaded shares worth Rs 72.90 and Rs 0.32 crore respectively.
Meanwhile, proprietors shown their confidence in the market and they were the net buyers of equities worth Rs 26.47 crore.
Since January, FIIs have offloaded equities worth Rs 5,514.23 crore, whereas DIIs have invested Rs 3,863.95 crore in the market.
BSE’s sensitive index — Sensex — today closed at 9,300.86 points, a gain of 209.98 points or 2.31 per cent.
