Bharti Airtel Q3 net more than doubles, at Rs 610 crore
Reports growth in net income after 15 consecutive quarters of decline
Bharti Airtel, the country’s largest telecom operator by subscriber base, on Wednesday, reported 115.1% increase in net income to Rs 610 crore in October-December 2013 quarter on strong growth in EBIT.
Its net income during the corresponding quarter last year stood at Rs 284 crore.
Bharti Airtel reported growth in net income after 15 consecutive quarters of decline.
Revenue for the quarter was Rs 21,939 crore, up 13.3% over the Rs 19,362 crore posted in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue from its India operations grew 10.3% on strong growth in all segments while international revenue increased 18.5% during the quarter under review.
Mobile voice realisation in India rose by 1.96 paise on a year-on-year to 37.13 paise in Q3 2014 from 35.17 paise in Q3 2013. Average revenue per user (APRU) from mobile services in India increased by Rs 9.7 to Rs 195. Data customer base increased by 31.2% to 54.4 million, coupled with 54.4% increase in usage per customer.
