The Reserve Bank of India left the Repo rate unchanged at 8% but cut CRR by 25 bps to 4.25% in its Second Quarter Review of Monetary Policy - 2012-13. The CRR cut is expected to release 17500 cr of liquidity. The RBI left interest rates unchanged at its last policy meeting on 17 September 2012 citing sticky inflation. FY13 GDP projection cut to 5.8% while Inflation projection raised to 7.5%.

As the advanced economies deal with these tensions and global demand conditions weaken, emerging and developing economies are also slowing down, according to the RBI.

Over the last quarter, policymakers around the world have confronted increasingly difficult challenges. It is important to note though that liquidity infusions are only a stopgap measure intended to maintain financial stability and arrest further downturn. They cannot substitute for robust structural solutions that can return the advanced economies to the path of recovery

Japan Industrial Production Down 4.1% in September
Industrial output in Japan fell a seasonally adjusted 4.1 percent on month in September, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said in Tuesday's preliminary reading, following the 1.6 percent decline in August.
On a yearly basis, industrial production plummeted 8.1 percent after shedding 4.6 percent in the previous month. METI downgraded its assessment of industrial production, saying: "Industrial production is on a downward trend."

Hi Madhes, That's not a bounce, market remains volatile when it falls all of a sudden. Nifty has good resistance @5615, hence testing this level couple of times, that's it. To bounce back again, nifty has to cross 5650 again.

- Take decent amount of insurance (Term Insurance only). Tax Saving
- A portion Invest/Save in PPF/EPF (tax saving)
- A certain portion in ELSS (Tax saving mutual fund, select top rated funds and check their history for atleast 3-5 yrs against market)

Trading is F&O is a high risk activity. So you should plan your Entry, Targets and Stop Loss. EXIT THE TRADE WITH MINIMAL LOSS WHEN SL IS TRIGGERED. PNB looks weak and can see lower levels of 710 and 690. Hedge them with PEs for now.

Swiss bank UBS to cut as many as 10,000 jobs::
Swiss banking giant UBS AG is to cut as many as 10,000 employees, or some 15 percent of its staff, to drastically shrink its ailing investment bank.
The news of the layoffs came as Switzerland's biggest bank posted another big loss for the third quarter. It said Tuesday that the job cuts are part of a strategy to shore up profits. As a result, UBS said it needs to reduce its headcount to "around 54,000" by 2015, down from its current 64,000 employees in 57 countries.
Some 7,500 jobs are to be cut mainly in London and the United States, where UBS has a prominent building and trading operations in Stamford, Conn., near New York City. The other 2,500 cuts are to be in Switzerland.

German joblessness rises as euro zone crisis bites::
German joblessness rose for a seventh month in a row in October, highlighting the vulnerability of Europe's biggest economy to the euro zone crisis.
Economists expect the trend to reverse, however, as growth revives in the new year.
The number of Germans out of a job rose to 2.937 million in October, up 20,000 from the previous month. The consensus forecast in a Reuters poll of 31 economists was for unemployment to rise by 10,000.. Joblessness, however, remains near its lowest level since German reunification more than two decades ago. Labour Office data released on Tuesday showed the unemployment rate steady at 6.9 percent, unchanged from a revised figure for September. This stands in marked contrast to the chronic joblessness suffered by weaker members of the euro zone such as Spain, where one in every two young people is unemployed.
"The weaker economic situation is having a noticeable impact on the (German) labour market. However, the jobs market overall is proving robust and is in good shape," said Frank-Juergen Weise, head of the Labour Office.

US Stock index futures edge lower; cash indexes shut::
U.S. stock index futures traded a touch lower on Tuesday, with cash equity indexes set to remain closed for a second day due to a severe storm hitting the East Coast.
Futures for the S&P 500 fell 0.2 percent, Dow Jones futures shed 0.1 percent and contracts on the Nasdaq 100 were down 0.4 percent just a while ago.
Sandy, one of the biggest storms ever to hit the United States, battered the nation's eastern seaboard on Tuesday, swamping New York City streets with record levels of floodwater, blacking out power to millions of people and bringing transport to a halt through much of the region.

Superstorm Sandy slammed into the U.S. east coast on Tuesday and hurled a record 14-foot surge of seawater at New York City, flooding the financial district, bringing transport to a standstill and putting the presidential campaign on hold a week before election day. A huge fire also ripped through Breezy Point in the borough of Queens in New York City destroying 50 homes in one of the city's most remote neighborhoods.
The neighborhood had been extensively flooded by Sandy's record storm surge, and firefighters were hampered in their efforts to bring the blaze under control, a spokesman for the New York Fire Department said.
President Barack Obama signed a declaration of emergency for the state of New York making federal funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Richmond, Suffolk and Queens, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that 7 million people were left without electrical power by the storm, which crashed ashore late on Monday near the gambling resort of Atlantic City, New Jersey. At least 13 deaths were blamed on the storm, according to the Associated Press, while more than 1 million people across a dozen states were ordered to evacuate.
The record storm surge prompted Exelon Corp to declare an "alert" at its New Jersey Oyster Creek nuclear power plant, while stock markets in New York were set to be closed on Tuesday for a second day - the first time the stock exchange has been shut since the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The storm brought a record surge of almost 14 feet (4.2 meters) to downtown Manhattan, well above the previous record of 10 feet (3 meters) during Hurricane Donna in 1960, the National Weather Service said.

BOJ Boosts Stimulus for Sagging Economy, Markets Unimpressed::
The Bank of Japan boosted its monetary stimulus for the second month in a row on Tuesday in response to intense political pressure for action and mounting evidence that the world's third-largest economy was on the cusp of recession.
In a well-flagged move, the central bank topped up its asset buying and lending program, its main monetary easing tool, by 11 trillion yen ($138 billion) to 91 trillion, broadly in line with what markets had factored in.
As widely expected, the BOJ cut its growth forecasts in a semi-annual review and projected that consumer inflation will only reach 0.8 percent in the year to March 2015 which still far exceeds private-sector estimates of near-zero growth. Many analysts agree with the BOJ that simply flooding cash to markets already awash with excess fund will have little direct effect of stimulating the economy.
Bank lending rose just 1 percent in the year to September even as the BOJ pumped more than 60 trillion yen so far via its asset buying and lending program, as companies remain reluctant to borrow for investment due to the murky outlook.

Subbu, It's difficult to say for intra-day but can buy it in every dip for a target of 1100+ in short-term period. ICICI has good support @ 1040/20, if breaks, it may fall further to lower levels and It has good resistance @ 1060-1070 levels, if breaks it may rise further..
I guess it's better to enter in dips after full-fledged fall, wait for some more time till Friday..

Priyanka, Yes, it's bit unlikely to touch 5850/5900 by Diwali but am expecting it before Nov-end, most of the people were optimistic on festival sentiment. Need to wait till Nov 5th for clear picture. Once again thanks for sharing this info..
