I won't say the Tiruvitamkoor royal family looted wealth from the temple. Some employees of the temple argued through media that the current king had taken many golden sheets from the temple for printing GOD PADMANABHA picture in it and not give back to temple. This got many media attention (in 2009) and questioned their title in the court.
The main difference of the wealth of other temple and PADMANABHA Temple is that most of the wealth is the wealth of the kingdom and not the temple.

ICICI Bank has picked up a little over 29% equity in GTL by acquiring its shares. These shares were pledged as security for loans taken by the company. The newspapers have reported that the information has been relayed to BSE, although OneIndia Money couldn`t find any such filing as of Saturday (11.30 a.m).

GTL is the company which provides infrastructure solutions to telecom companies in India. The company has ongoing projects across many countries and has worked with over 70 cellular operators.

The company has been mired by many bad news, speculation in the month of July as media speculated that the promoters of the company have dumped their shares on the open market. As per the filings it was easy to establish that the promoters had pledged more than 50% shares in the company -- GTL and GTL Infra.

Though promoters kept claiming that there was no problem with the company and the business is good as usual the investors have maintained a contrary view.

If the news of share pledges being used by the bankers to convert it to shares is true, then the promoters have become a minority stake holder in their own company.

Combining this with the media reports that Viom Networks had offered to buy GTL Infrastructure for Rs 7500 crore would mean a lot of activity in the company. This offer was later confirmed by the company as it filed "Viom has not entered into any formal discussion with the company and hence the question of Rs7,500 crore or Rs10,500 crore being the offer value does not arise."

There is a strong possibility that in the next few weeks, ICICI Bank may force the promoter to accept the offer from Viom Network.

This will open many investing opportunities in both the companies -- GTL and GTL Infrastructures. If you are risk averse then sell your shares in the company and stay away till a clear picture evolves.

JP Associates bag contracts worth Rs 20.79 bn
Jaiprakash Associates has been awarded two contracts worth Rs 20.79 billion by Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project Authority, Bhutan for construction of following pertaining to 990MW Punatsangchhu II Hydro- Electric Project a joint implementation of the Hydro Electric Project by the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of India.

IFCI Factors has filed a Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI for an initial public offering (IPO) on July 28, 2011. The company proposes to make a public issue of 39,086,628 equity shares of Rs 10 each for cash at price to be discovered through a 100% book building process (Issue). The Issue will constitute 33% of the post Issue paid up share capital of the company.

Bank of India has decided to increase its base rate and benchmark prime lending rate (BPLR) by 75 basis points (bps) each with effect from July 28, 2011. The revised base rate stands at 10.75% p.a. from the existing 10% p.a. The new BPLR now stands at 15% p.a. from existing 14.25% p.a.

The L&T Finance Holdings, initial Public issue which closed for subscription on July 29, received subscriptions for more than 5 times its size, aggregating to a demand in excess of Rs 58 billion. It is noteworthy that this IPO attracted over 600,000 applications into its fold.

As against the price band of Rs 51 to Rs 59 a equity share, the Company announced the issue price of Rs.52 per equity share today. Speaking to newsmen Y M Deosthalee, Chairman of L&T Finance Holdings said, ``We are happy with the demand that the issue generated amongst all categories of investors, particularly given the market volatility. While the IPO received good demand at different price points within the price band, to reciprocate the confidence that over 600,000 applicants have placed in us we decided to price the issue at Rs 52. In line with L&T Group`s philosophy, this indicates our intention to build a long and mutually beneficial relationship with our prospective shareholders.``

Vedanta Group firm Sesa Goa has contested Karnataka Lokayukta`s report and said no illegal transaction was done with regard to export of iron ore as the shipments had reached the Krishnapatnam port before the ban on its transportation took effect.

"The Lokayukta report has made an observation about our shipments from Krishnapatnam port and it has not indicted us," Sesa Goa Managing Director PK Mukherjee told PTI.

In the 464-page report on illegal mining, Karnataka`s Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde has mentioned Sesa Goa among the companies which exported iron ore from Krishnapatnam port after the state government had a ban on its transportation.

On Friday, the company`s shares plunged by over 5% to Rs 275 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange against the backdrop of reports that company has also been named in the Lokayukta`s report.

Clarifying the transactions, which have been mentioned in the report, Mukherjee said the two different shipments of about 60,500 tonne and 15,000 tonne respectively were lying at the Krishnapatnam port before the imposition of ban by Karnataka government on July 28, 2010 and they were exported.

"There was nothing illegal in that [exports of two shipments] as these quantities were moved to the port in early July while the ban was imposed on July 28, 2010. Every export was done in a legal way," Mukherjee said.

He added that Krishnapatnam port is outside Karnataka and there was no restriction on ports outside the state to stop exports.

"The ban was on transportation of iron ore from the state and our quantities were moved before the imposition of ban. So where is the question of violating the law," Mukherjee said.

According to the report, Sesa Goa exported 60,500 tonne of iron ore through MV Nava Eliza on August 10, 2010, while the second export of the company of about 15,000 tonne took place on August 13, 2010 through MV Genco Pioneer.

The report has also strongly indicted, among others, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, who is expected to quit office in the wake of illegal mining scam

U.S. debt ceiling drama deadline is on 02-08-2011. Most probably the bailout will be approved by both Houses before the deadline. If fails to approve then expect a severe crash in U.S. markets and will be followed by other world markets.

Most probably US will be bailed out and be ready enjoy the rise with Bulls.
