Thanks CB, ok I will try to exit Tata steel call in the morning tomorrow, but it seems that market may open little down tomorrow..Can I avg it if market opens low??

Hi NH, thank you for your reply, but can you tell me, that for intrinsic value i can calculate from the strike, but in case of time value,,,is there any rule to ascertain that? or the remaining left after the intrinsic value will be time value?
but in case of 5500CE this exp, whn nifty was @ 5240-5300 was 8-9 rs since nifty reached 5450 that rises to 28-32 why..as per you it still not crossed its strike price...for that there should not be any intrinsic value

Hi avik, Hi avik, That calculator works on Black-Scholes model of calculation of options premiums formula:
C = S * N (d1) - X * e- rt * N (d2)
Some times price of the option rise rapidly due to increase of implied volatility and demand of buyers. Well in that case value of the option becomes more volatile and as you mentioned in an example to NH, there nifty rose immediately from 5250 to 5450 and traders believe that there might be a chance for nifty to cross 5500 and start buying more and more calls which makes its value to move up. So near expiry period options become more and more volatile than the regular intervals.
