Hi himanshu, In Physics, a "Pivot" is a "fulcrum" on which a lever balances. Now, keeping this in mind, in technical analysis, we can say that a pivot point is a price level used by traders (and analysts) as a predictive indicator of market (or stock/security) movement. The link provided by CB should be of immense help. Just to add to the calculations provided in the link by CB, if someone wants to stress more on the HIGH or LOW or CLOSE, he applies a multiplier (say 1x, 2x, 3x, etc) to either of these. Then traders have different R1, R2, R3, S1, S2, S3, and Pivot Point.
