Tricky Question, but good one. Let me share my view here.
Lets say ABC stock is trading @ 100 levels. ABC Option strike 100 we are talking about.
considering other measures such as Market trend, news in the stock, Q results, open interest etc. If there is a minute difference between CE and PE prices, then it would be difficult to say it is bullish or bearish, both are trying their best to pull / push the stock price. If there is a specific difference between the prices, then we can say it is Bullish or Bearish.
Volumes are also important. There are few stock options which will always record less volumes, you can't apply this rules to them.

what is your view on DLF. I bought DLF @ 230 for a target of 240-245. But DLF came down to 200-195 level and again bounce back upto 218 level. I asked CB sir and he said to hold for short term, it is seeing profit booking. But today I see some comments about DLFinsome other sites that peoples are saying DLF hv weak fundamentals and it cann't go upto even 225 level. it will again come down soon.

Fundamentals, Technicals, Upcoming News, Analyst Views, Interview of Board of directrs of the company (occassionally), Quarterly results, Comapnies progress, MArket Trend, Sectoral sentiment in the market etc.

Agree with you both.
For example.. Tata Global: todays close at 167.5 for july series.. NO CE PE active at 167.5.. but nearest OTM 170 CE at 8 (400k vol) nearest OTM PE 165 PE at 4.6 (50k vol).. same difference with 175 CE at 6.2(90k vol) and 160 2.6 (240k vol) PE...so contrast is whether high or low volume equidistant CE is high priced than PE... not sure shot answer to this question.. but may be food for thought

2)On Expiry day at 3:29 shorted 2000 Q | Equity Coal India @ 395 and say it closed for the day at 395 | And holding in margin.

Now post market will (1) and (2) auto square off, (395-420)*2000 = -50,000 Loss instead of 1 lac loss ??

Hi CB, thanks for the clarification so the expired CE can not be squared off by shorting equity cash, thanks for the clarification.

Hi TradeWarrior, CB's reply is correct. Let me add a few points. Please do not mix point no 1 with point no 2. Both are different trades and hence (395-420)*2000 does not arise. When CB says it will be squared off automatically by the broker, it means your broker will participate in the auction market and buy the shares on your behalf.
For point no 2 lets say, for example, instead of EQUITY you short FUTURES at 395 and the settlement price is also 395, then for the FUTURES trade, there will be no profit no loss.

So, your net loss will be what you made in the options trade, which is a loss of 100,000
