Hi Kartik... I've planning to start trading with options... and have a query... If I buy Nifty Dec 4200 Put at 29.10... what happens if the Nifty actually goes down... Does the price of the Put increase or decrease? And what will be my profit? Sorry if the question sounds silly... But I'm a novice in Options trading... :)

I have sold a 4900 CE @ 80 ......will my position get squared off automatically if there is lack of margin or will the broker ask me for additional margin before squaring off. (eg. if market goes lets say beyond 5000)
P.S : I am newbie and just trying out some trade...please excuse me if the question is silly

Hi Deepak Bedi, if nifty goes down your put will increase.
But 4200 is far off from 4700 (nifty spot) ...henceforth the increase in put may only be marginal.
Far out of money puts will decay faster as the expiry approaches

Hi NV... Thanks for that... I just gave 4200 as an example... :) If the put increases to say 50... what will be my profit... (50 - 29.1) x 50 (1 lot of Nifty) = INR 1045... Please confirm??
