Yes, it is called as Short selling of stock for delivery. Generally for this, you need to hold good capital and your broker should provide margin.
If you use margin facility, you will be in risk as you have to close your position at the end of the T+2 / T+3 / T+5 depends on your broker. So you may not give guarantee for profits in trade.
If you are begineer in short selling of shares, start with paper trading and then do it with small volumes, these steps helps you to understand the practical difficulties and minimize the risk of losses in case of any mistakes.
