Hi c.p, if you short a stock and do not cover it the same day, then it will go for auction on the 3rd day. whatever the price of the stock is on the 3rd day, it will be covered at that rate. if it moves higher then you will be at a loss, if it comes down then could profit a bit. but inform your broker about it. some brokers charge 20% of total amt as penalty. if you buy a stock you can keep it for 2-3 days, but you cannot sell a stock and keep it for 2-3 days.

am good... just do post portem of the market after 3.30p.m for around 2 hours.... study the year lows, month lows and week lows.... and pick them hoping they will bounce from there... at times it works out.... most of the times they touch new lows!!

in reality the entire process is a trial and error.... and we learn after doing lot of errors!

and start another day with new hopes and ambitions to see profits...that's it!!
