I too wasnt aware that demat wasnt required for f&o - but yes - makes sense - since you cant take delivery it wont be necessary.
Which trading account would you folks recommend ? I am sick of ICICI's charges

Hi Kb, You even link your existing demat A/c with them. But would be only for delivery purchase and sale, but not for margin.

THEY CHARGE RS.20 PER LOT ATA TIME( IF U TRADE WITH 20 LOT AT A TIME CHARGES ARE SAME)

Hi Kb, You need to have a DP a/c .
Better try opting NSDl depository rather than CDSL , Since NSDL will provide free margin on ur stock where CDSL wont provide. So u can buy shares say 50k and around 50 will be available in ur trading a/c for intraday !!!
