Good to C, little Surprised at the investments/profits/loss people are booking/posting around, seems most are game for taking high risk trades.

Hi CB, Tradewarrior, Good evening.
With respect to Tradewarrior's 8:44 pm post, let me add my observations also.
1) What I find most surprising is, many people will get into a trade without any stoploss or target in mind, whatever maybe the timeframe of holding. Then they ask for assistance. I am not saying that they should not ask. But why not know about your SL and probable target BEFORE you initiate a trade? For example, very rarely I find posts like "Hi CB, I plan to buy XYZ counter 1000 quantity at Rs. 100. My SL is Rs.98 and my target is Rs.105. The timeframe will be intraday/about 1 week/about 1 month/. Is it OK? Do I need to modify my SL and /or Target? Please assist".
I dont know why this happens. But I feel many people are too reluctant to try to know ON THEIR OWN about SL and target. They expect SPOONFEEDING type of assistance regarding their trades AFTER they have entered a trade.
2) Also many people buy options (call or put) without even knowing which strike to enter, volatility, greeks, intrinsic value, time value etc. Many a times, this is dangerous. Often we see posts like " I bought 500 call of ABC company at Rs. 10. Now it is Rs. 2. What to do ? "
My questions to them are:
i) Was your choice of strike correct at the time of entry?
ii) What was your SL and WHY THAT SL?
iii) What was your target and in what timeframe? (Remember, timeframe is very important in options trading as there is a concept of time value decay or theta decay)
iv) Have you ever noticed that, for example, though the underlying moves up by Rs. 20, your call goes up by only Re. 1? If so, have you ever thought why this has happened?
If traders know the answers of the above questions, then from the next trade onwards their profits will maximise and losses will be minimal.
But I feel, we are so busy with all our activities that we do not even try to learn and understand the CONCEPTS before entering a trade.
GOD HELP US :)
