Hi ranjan, Fed means "Federal Reserve System". It is the central banking system of USA (Like we have Reserve Bank in India).
The Fed is going for a policy-setting meeting and investors and traders keenly look forward to what new measures the Fed can come up with, to boost USA's economy. Usually an announcement follow such meetings. Hope this info helps...
