Lot size of SBIN is 125. U sold 2 lots 2800CE @ 28. So, u received (28*2)*125 = Rs. 7000. U bought 1 lot 2850CE@ 16. There u paid 16*125 = Rs. 2000. U also bought 1 lot 2750 CE @48.50. There u paid 48.50*125 = 6062.50. Therefore, total premium paid = 8062.50. Total premium received by u = 7000. In other words, in order to take this position, ur net outflow of money is 8062.50-7000 = 1062.50. This 1062.50 can be ur maximum loss.
Now, if SBIN on expiry, closes below 2800 (lets assume 2790), then 2800CE will expire worthless, and u keep the entire Rs. 7000. In this scenario, ur 2850CE will also expire worthless and u lose 2000. Your 2750CE will generate (2790-2750)*125, or 40*125=5000. What I have told you, is only one example (possibility). There will be different kinds of payoffs when there will be a different closing price at expiry. This situation where you have landed in SBIN, is a kind of BULL SPREAD. My kind advice to u will be :
1) Calculate different payoffs in paper, using different closing, for ease of understanding.
2) Try to exit the spread before expiry, because if u let an option expire, there is ample chance that ur broker can levy more STT. Contact your broker for details regarding STT (i.e, if u let an option expire).
