Hello Kartik,
European shares turned negative in afternoon trade on Thursday after data showed new U.S. claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly climbed to a nine-month high last week.
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 500,000 in the week ended Aug. 14, the highest since mid-November, the Labor Department said.

Hi Suresh M, you may use ichimoku clouds to predict that too, once a stock closes above the clould (crosses and closes) above it, go long, and if the stock closes below the clould (crosses and closes) below, go short. Alog with it use 28-DMA, it can help in short term trend predictions
