The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be adding Bajaj Auto, Dr Reddy's Labs and Sesa Goa in place of ABB, Idea Cellular and Unitech in the 50-share Nifty. These changes will be effective from October 1, 2010.
Market Capitalisation of Nifty will be increased by Rs 28,900 crore and free float market cap of Nifty by Rs 17,237 crore.
Earlier in the history of Nifty, NSE had removed Dr Reddy's Labs in May 1997 and September 2008 while added in the initial stage when S&P CNX Nifty launched and then in May 1999. Bajaj Auto was excluded in March 2008 due to demerger news.
