This consolidation in Nifty with no loss in the premiums of calls is indicating good strength. The OI of 5600CE has risen sharply and is over 92 lacs. The OI of 5300PE has superceded that of 5200PE and is over 101 lacs. As such Nifty will likely trade within 5300 - 5600 range and this upmove may likely take it above 5500. This gives confidence to our next target of 5565 on Nifty.

Hi NH, Regarding your previous query about market range of 5300-5600. Nifty has currently 3 possibilties from here.

1. Nifty heads above 5500 and then see profit booking to below 5400 levels.

2. Nifty sees a correction to about 5370-80 levels and then heads above 5500 levels before expiry.

3. Market consolidates at current levels.

Looking at the momentum in the market. Option 3 is not likely. The other 2 options are possible. But considering the fact that the 5500CE is not only sustaining their premiums, but even gaining on without much substantial rise in Nifty indicates the possibility of Option 1 as most likely.

Hi SR - Thank for making me understand the logic. But, one more doubt. 5300 pe has the highest piled up OI (10,334,450) and the change in OI is +822,600. How to judge this?
