Yes , the spot price did trade in green ,yesterday..and if the prevailing dry spell prolongs ,there is more chance of a further rally ..
However , arrivals during the current season is higher ,when compared to the numbers for the same period last year . [But the demand would have increased as well. ]
..
There was this news on the 4th april that ."FMC has imposed an additional special margin of 10% in cash on longs of April contract and 15% on longs of other contracts ..Was this the reason for it's weak trades , for the previous 3 days ..?
And as you well mentioned .. as this series becomes the current series ,will the price begin to corelate with the spot price hither to ? Well ,this might sound like a lay persons ' anxious search for a reason ,for having gone 'short ' ,almost near support levels..
I will have to be prepared to exit at 1200 ,if need be or hedge for time being .
let's see.. Mean time hoping for the best .

Hi Gitanjali, Thanks for your kind reply and the nice music :) Your post did compel me to discuss/ share some info :
1) If there is dry spell, how come arrivals of the crop is higher compared to last year? I guess, you, Kb will be in a better position to access this scenario. One scenario can be that the growers are releasing their produce in a regulated manner to take advantage of the rising prices due to dry spell and subsequent fear of plant withering. But this also does not clarify the higher arrivals. Hence, when I am in doubt, I will ONLY consider charts. Therefore, technical levels, which I mentioned in my previous post
2) I dont think a mere 10% increase in Margin by the FMC resulted in weak trades of Cardamom in the past 3 days. 10% hardly makes a difference.
3) The price of the current month contract is most likely to co-relate with the spot prices and we can expect Fut to trade at a premium to spot. We can rule out Undha Badla or Backwardation in this case. If happens otherwise, I will be greatly surprised :D
4) A good SL can be at 1210 instead of 1200, but ultimately, its your choice. I didnot get your concept of hedging. How will you hedge? By going long in the next month's contract? If so, liquidity will be an issue. I believe, a better alternative will be, whenever in profits ( or maybe, decent profits), book... and then THINK AFRESH :)
