In case of pharma, reports suggest that the government is working out a Rs 1600 crore package for senior citizens. If the plans materialise, it will increase demand for formulations.
Instead of going for low beta stocks, one should invest in thematic stocks where valuations are attractive. The market has been already punished and has slipped by 8% from their peak level of 21,000. In BSE 500, 33% of the stocks are down by more than 20%.
